The walls of all four schools that comprise Foundation Academies, a K-12 charter public school, were devoid of any sense of identity and place. I designed graphics that function as “landmarks” throughout the schools, helping to guide, educate, and inspire students, staff, and visitors as they navigate the halls. The designs are intended to reinforce the values of the academies, using branded colors to create visual experiences that enrich the imaginations and education of the students. Since each academy floor serves 3-4 grade levels, themes have been chosen that align with the student ages and grades represented within each academy.
The Collegiate Academy features stylized illustrations of various colleges and universities most likely to be attended by Foundation Academy graduates, as well as famous African and Latin Americans. Stairway risers facilitate movement with inspirational quotes and motivational words.
